This is probably my last finished movie of this year, so let's go out with a bang that will give you quite a headache.
Another hyper Sonic movie, for everyone who complained that I lost my crappy drawingstyle and got bored with all the more artsy things I've done.
Oh, and to finally shut people up about telling me the Babylon Rogues are back. I KNOW, darn it.
So yeah, Zero Gravity, what's there to say? Thing that amuses me the most is that all the levels are racetracks that go in a loop. That was fine for the first game, since it revolved around a grand prix, but in this game our heroes race because they need to go somewhere, are being chased, or are doing the chasing. So why the heck are the racing in circles? Would make more sense if the levels were long stretches of road, like in most Rally games or in the Cruis'n series.
What's with the Raiders of the lost Ark vibes in the babylon Rogues story opening anway, Storm's even making the same arm movements as Indy's "sidekick".
For the rest, the game has a generic Sonic story, so let's go around the bulletpoints:
---Annoying new main character: Suprisingly no, but the Babylon Rogues return. Wave and Storm became a lot more likeble in this game, but Jet is really annoying here, getting right on my most annoying characters list after SIlver and Chris. He yells at Storm and Wave for being late at one point, after they seperated to do chores. Things Wave did: Research ancient civilisation, improve the airboards, invent a brand new radar system. Things Storm did: Fight Amy, being attacked by robots, getting lost in the city, finding 2 cosmos stones and getting back to a flying headquarters with no aircraft. Things Jet did:... moan and complain behind his desk. Why's that guy the leader anyway? I love one bit of dialogue that went like; Jet: Give me THAT THING girl! Sonic: Girls don't cooperate when you rush them Jet! Jet: Rush?? IM THE FASTEST CREATURE ALIVE AND IM FAST AND AWESOME AND FAST (insert 5 hour lecture about how fast he is)
Great Jet, but that wasn't Sonic's point. But that bit sums him up pretty much. Heck, it sums up all Sonic characters now I think about it.
---New super evil villain. Jup, move over Ultimate Doom, Erazor Djin and Mephiles, because here is..dun dun dun! SCR-HD! It's a robot! He wants to steal a ring, and then.. explodes. Then he steals the rings again..and then he explodes again. Wow, I guess he's modeled after Sauron from Lord of the rings or something.
Exposition plot: As usual, the game doesn't have any real plot, other then characters yelling how awesome they are and then moving to a diffrent place. Occasionally that plot get's interupted by tedious exposition.
I love it how Tails at one point goes "The robots exploded.. BUT THAT MEANS!..no wait, I have to think first.." As if the writers want to build up suspense about the exposition. Oh, why did the robots explode, Tails? Because of the power of the chaos emeralds? or the power of the Ark? or the power of the cosmos stones? Or the power of this paperclip? Tell me!! The suspense is killing me!!
The back story is about aliens crashing on earth, because their ship crashed because they send it into space to cause a black hole to destroy earth as a warning for not using the spaceship who's in space about to kill them.. or something. Makes sense.
--Most conflict in the story is caused by the heroes's speech impediments; Jup, as usual your biggest enemies are your friends, because they keep fighting because..eh.. I dunno. If I were Eggman, I'd just start a pie eating contest for Sonic and his "friends" and make them murder each other over who's the best eater, while I go somewhere else carrying out my evil plans.
Speaking of which, what the heck does Eggman want anyway? Build Robotnikland? The guy has at least two entire new themepark/city/factory whatever's in every game, why does he even need a evil plan to get Roobtnikland? He seems to have his own evil cities and all already, especially since GUN and Sonic never seem to bother demolishing those. They just stop Eggman's useless moonlaser weapon, or in Tails case, take away 300 rings, and then go away again. Morons.
