Royalty is destroying our furniture

So since Wednesday we got ourselves our first own pet, this feline:



Jup, a female cat. Insert hilarious "getting some pussy" jokes.
I wanted to call her Doctor Victor von Doom, but unfortunately my girlfriend has the last call and calls her Zelda.
So now we have to train her royal princess not to mess up our apartment while I'm preparing several dozens of answers to all the hysterical "so where's Ganondorf/ Link" questions.
(My preferred answer at the moment is "Me" and then I start wacking the jokester on the head with a plastic sword until they never make jokes again.)

Oh, and no, the Journal title is a joke, she hasn't damaged any furniture yet. In fact she only just recently even dared to come out from under the sofa.
Very cute and cuddley. Tough keeping an eye on any hidden demonic behaviour.
You never know.

In other news, my one Christmas present I got last month was "So Anyway,", a book of John Cleese from as I asked him for an autobiography of a rich asshole.
I was curious what boring rich assholes can possibly say about themselves that's worth a book.
(Altough I was expecting a book from an ex-president or bussines tycoon, not a comedy legend.)

Book ended up being much more fascinating then I expected. There's a lot of weird personal quirks I got in common with John Cleese (Like an extreme obsession with cars when you're young that then suddenly dissapears without a trace)
Also great for me is that mr. Cleese actually talks about the structure and technicalities of humor every now and then which makes me happy as I'm fascinated by that.
And it's weird to see him sum up a lot of things been preaching about In Dissected. So great, if one of the greatest comedy legends of our time thinks on the same lines as me, there must be some hope.

And of course as a result of reading the book, I'm catching up with Monty Phython's work which outside of Holy Grail I haven't seen much of in last years.
The most interesting to me was a BBC Drama comedy called Holy Flying Circus, a weird reconstrution of the backlash and a great discussion on television where religious groups want to get Life of Brain banned.
Great that the original itnerview's on Youtube too. Freakign love how the wacky comedians from Phython are coming up with intelligent points and try to have a serious discussion while the religious representatives are mostly goofing around and just mindlessly throwing mud at them.
This is so painfully recognisible to me whenever I'm in discussion with extreme Sonic fans about my video's.
I especailly love/Hate that wonderful arrogance that merely stating your opinion is sufficient to "win" the discussion over any carefully constructed argument the other party has.

I said it before and I'll say it again, modern fandoms are the new religions, and watching people fueled by spiritual arrogance and entirely convinced of some abstract truth duke it out with people who genuinely want to figure out how the world works is endlessly fascinating to me.

Too bad the Life of Brian drama wasn't covered in John Cleese's book (It stops right when Monty Phython starts, with one bonus epilogue about the recent live show) Would love to see him discuss it in more depth. Oh well.
